Ms Bernadette Liew

People are often surprised to learn that Math was my weakest subject in lower primary. It was only in Primary 5, when I began noticing patterns in question types and how concepts connected, that my interest was truly piqued. As “heuristics” was not formally taught back then, I felt like a spy uncovering a hidden code as I worked through algebraic methods with my dad and translated them into models with my mum.

My experience as a student continues to shape the way I teach today. I emphasise understanding the “why” behind concepts, rather than simply memorising the “how”. With several years of teaching experience, I believe strongly in building solid foundations while nurturing a genuine love for learning.

What drew me to Math Mavens is its systematic approach to scaffolding and reinforcing concepts, revealing how beautifully interconnected Mathematical ideas can be. If you have been searching for a “method to the madness”, I would be glad to guide your child towards greater clarity and confidence, and to show that Math is truly an art of reasoning.
